KILROY IS HERE
Saturday 18th September
Robert Kilroy-Silk is taking time off from his Parliamentary duties to travel 250 miles from his home in Buckinghamshire to talk to electors in Hartlepool.
He's expected to arrive in Hartlepool around lunchtime and will be meeting people in a 'walkabout' in Hartlepool town centre, may be in other parts of the constituency if there is time.
He will speak at a public meeting in the town in the evening.
He says: "One of the themes of the UKIP election campaign was to draw attention to the lies of politicians - especially on Europe. They lied about the Common Market. They lied about the Single European Act. They lied about the Maastricht Treaty. They lied about the Amsterdam Treaty. They lied about the Nice Treaty.
"Today, they're lying about the European Constitution. And they're lying about other things. They're lying about the immigration and asylum figures. They're lying about rising crime. They're lying about the state of the health service.
Mr Mandelson lied about his mortgage application. He lied about passports for the Hinduja brothers. Yet he's been rewarded by Blair, who's lied to us all about Weapons of Mass Destruction, with an unelected position in the European Commission.
As my track record shows, I believe in telling the truth, even if it upsets some people.
We have an excellent local candidate in Stephen Allison. Stephen Allison is a person with a trustworthy record. We need people in Parliament whom we can trust. Trust to tell the truth. Trust to listen to what people are saying. Hartlepool needs an MP who will not talk down to people. An MP whom you can trust always to do what is right in the interests of British people and the British way of life.
I'm coming to Hartlepool to ask Hartlepool voters to consider using their vote to back a trustworthy local representative of a Party that is prepared to tell the truth".
